IF JESUS CHRIST WERE THE CEO

If Jesus Christ were the CEO of a "for profit" company, what would be its objectives?

Consider this:

1. "TO HONOR GOD IN ALL WE DO"

Jesus: "I have brought You glory on earth by completing the work You gave me to do."  (John 17:4 - NIV)

2. "TO HELP PEOPLE DEVELOP"

Paul: "We (teach) every man with all wisdom, what we may present every man complete in Christ."  (Colossians 1:28a)

3. "TO PURSUE EXCELLENCE"

Paul: "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about these things." (Philippans 4:8 - NIV)

4. "TO GROW PROFITABLY"

Solomon: "All hard work brings a profit....plans of the diligent lead to profit." (Proverbs 14:23a; 21:5a)

2. They never settle for average

The word "mediocre" literally means "halfway up a stony mountain."  Competent people never settle for average or mediocre

3. They pay attention to detail

Dale Carnegie said, "If you do little jobs well, the big ones tend to take care of themselves."

4. They perform with consistency

Highly competent people give their best all the time.  If 99.9 percent were good enough, then 811,000 faulty rolls of 35mm film would be loaded this year, 22,000 checks would be deducted from the wrong bank accounts in the next  60 minutes and twelve babies would be given to the wrong parents today alone

His perfect love

HOW TO BUILD THE WORD OF GOD INTO YOUR LIFE

1.  Study it through - choose a verse or passage.  Discipline your mind to carefully analyse it, asking the question, "What exactly is the meaning here?"

2. Pray it in - Once you understand the Biblical truth, surrender your will to it.  Search your soul over it.  Absorb it into your bloodstream.  Prayerfully ask God to build it into your life

3. Work it out - Ask the question, "What can I do in a practical way to apply this truth to my life...to my situation?"

4. Pass it on - Once the truth of the Scriptures have become an integral part of your life, it is only natural that you bear fruit by passing it on to others.

- Being willing to face the loneliness that sometimes comes with dedication to Christian service (Philippians 2:19-21; II Timothy 1:15; 4:10, 16)

- Being willing to keep walking faithfully, one step at a time, through the desert of the soul, when it seems God has abandoned you (Job 23:8-17; Psalm 42; 84:5-7)

- Being willing to accomplish what God calls you to do (Isaiah 6:8; 50:7; Acts 20:24, 26:19; I Corinthians 15:58; 2 Timothy 4:7)

- Being willing to surrender all to God and not strike back at those who oppose you (Luke 6:27-36; 1 Peter 2:20-23)

Every leader must establish a list of priorities, then learn to put things first. When Solomon become king of Israel, he was given the opportunity to ask God for anything.  No doubt, King Solomon faced the same option we have today:

1. Easy things first - He could've chosen to focus on the easy tasks ahead of him

2. Fun things first - He could've chosen to focus on riches or fame

3. Urgent things first - He could've asked for help in building the temple

4. Hard things first - He could have sought favor with those who didn't like him

5. First things first - Instead, he chose to seek wisdom so he could glorify God
