You are my place of quiet retreat

HOW TO PRAY AS A FRIEND OF GOD

- Pray for those who don't believe

- Pray for the world to be reached

- Pray for God's will to be done on earth as in heaven

- Pray for God's kingdom to prevail

- Pray for forgiveness and grace to abound

- Pray for sick, needy, and broken people

- Pray for children

- Pray to resist temptation and evil

- Pray for God to be glorified

I believe in the sun

WHO ELSE BUT A FRIEND?

- To believe in your dreams

- To share your joys

- To give you hope

- To comfort your hurts

- To listen

- To laugh with you

- To show you a better way

- To tell you the truth

- To encourage you

Who else can do that for you?

That is what friends are for

Prayer is powerful

YOUR NAME IS WRITTEN....AT THE TOP OF MY LIST

Some friends know all about us

And they like us just the same

They accept us as we are

Not asking us to change

They never criticize us

While listening to our view

They stay when others leave

And speak when some refuse

They are not many friends like that

And precious few I claim

But at the top of my list

I have proudly put your name

DEFINING FRIENDS

- A friend is someone who sees me at my worst but never forgets my best

- A friend is someone who thinks I am little bit more wonderful than I really am

- A friend is someone I can talk with for hours or be with in complete silence

- A friend is a person who is as happy for my successes as I am

- A friend trusts me enough to say what he really means when talking to me

- A friend doesn't try to know more, act smarter, or be my constant teacher.  A friend is a friend

- A friend is a person who listens to me even when she is not particularly interested in what I am saying.  She listens because she sees it is important to me

If you believe

THE ILLOGICAL NATURE OF FRIENDSHIP

- Friendship is based on what it gives, not what it gets

- Friendship stays alive by serving the other, not seeking to be served

- Friendship is motivated by love, not debt

- Friendship is willing to sacrifice without seeing or expecting a return

- It doesn't make sense, but the more it gives up, the stronger it gets.
